BestSisterSites.co.uk is committed to making our website accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of ability, device or assistive technology. We want every visitor to be able to read our reviews, compare operators and make informed decisions about where to play.
Standards
We aim to meet Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1. These are the internationally recognised guidelines for making web content accessible to people with visual, auditory, motor and cognitive impairments.
Accessibility is an ongoing process and we continually review our site to identify and address areas where we can improve.
What We Do
Structure and navigation: All pages use a clear heading hierarchy so that screen readers and keyboard users can navigate content efficiently. Our site structure is consistent across pages, making it predictable and easy to learn.
Images: We provide descriptive alternative text for all meaningful images. Decorative images are marked appropriately so they do not interfere with screen reader navigation.
Colour and contrast: We have selected text and background colour combinations that meet WCAG contrast ratio requirements. We do not use colour alone to convey important information.
Links: All links are clearly distinguishable from surrounding text. Link text is descriptive so that users can understand where a link will take them without relying on surrounding context.
Text sizing: The site responds to browser-level text resizing. You can increase or decrease the text size using your browser settings without losing content or functionality.
Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements on the site, including links, buttons and form fields, can be accessed and operated using a keyboard alone.
Responsive design: The site is built to work across desktop, tablet and mobile screen sizes.
Known Limitations
Some areas of the site may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards. In particular, some older content may use formatting or table structures that are not fully optimised for screen readers. We are working through older content to bring it in line with current standards.
Some comparison tables contain dense information that may be difficult to navigate on smaller screens or with certain assistive technologies. We are exploring ways to present this data more accessibly without losing the detail our readers need.
Third-party content embedded on the site, including operator widgets or external tools, may not meet the same accessibility standards we apply to our own content. We cannot guarantee accessibility for content controlled by third parties.
Feedback
If you experience any difficulty using our site or accessing any of our content, we want to know about it. Please email us at info@bestsistersites.co.uk with details of the issue, including the page URL and the assistive technology or browser you are using. We will investigate and respond as quickly as possible.
