👥 82 clubs, 2 websites
🔑 Two websites, one operator, one wallet
Buzz Bingo Digital Limited runs both sites, and the two are joined more tightly than most sister sites are. The player account, the verification documents and the money in the balance move between Buzz Casino and Buzz Bingo on their own, so an existing Buzz Bingo player who is already verified can log in to the casino and start playing without sending a single document again. There is no second sign-up to complete and no second balance to keep track of.
The split between the two is audience rather than technology. Buzz Bingo runs 17 or more bingo rooms, including 1p bingo and Voice Bingo, and it is built for people who use the chat rooms and may play in one of the clubs as well. Buzz Casino drops the bingo rooms and leads on slots and table games instead. Underneath, the platform, the cashier and the verification status are the same on both. Two brands on one licence is a very small network, and a network such as Gamesys runs six UK-facing brands on its own.
📋 Who runs it, and from where
- Operator of both sites: Buzz Bingo Digital Limited
- Address filed: 1 Castle Marina Road, Nottingham, NG7 1TN
- Owner since March 2021: Intermediate Capital Group
- Complaints go to IBAS, the Independent Betting Adjudication Service, once the operator has been tried
- Games: Playtech and nobody else, with the Age of the Gods and Fire Blaze jackpot series as the draw
🏠 From Gala to Buzz, 82 clubs and two changes of owner
The retail chain behind the websites started life as Gala Bingo. Caledonia Investments bought it for £241 million in 2015 and renamed it Buzz in 2018. When the pandemic hit the clubs, Intermediate Capital Group bought the business in March 2021 and 26 venues closed after the sale. Buzz Casino followed in 2023, the first casino product the group had built.
Gala Bingo today belongs to LC International Limited, which is part of Entain. Buzz and Gala share an ancestor and nothing else. They are competitors, and neither one is a sister site of the other.
82 clubs across England, Scotland and Wales came through all of it, open to anyone who wants to play in person and attached to the same brand as the two websites. No online-only rival has anything like it.
⚖ A £780,000 penalty against a company that had already sold up
In December 2021 the Gambling Commission fined Buzz Group Limited £780,000 for anti-money-laundering and social-responsibility failures dated between October 2019 and December 2020, and issued a formal warning alongside it. The published particulars are specific: the financial triggers meant to flag a player in trouble were set too high to catch anyone, one customer put in £22,400 over five days with no verification done, and another lost £12,400 over six days without a meaningful intervention.
The conduct happened under Caledonia Investments. The business was sold to Intermediate Capital Group in March 2021. The penalty landed nine months after that sale, against conduct that pre-dated it. Buzz called the case a legacy matter and said the compliance work had been redone. Buzz Casino did not exist at any point in the story and only opened in 2023.
📑 Which company is which
- Buzz Group Limited is the company named in the December 2021 penalty
- Buzz Bingo Digital Limited is the company holding the licence the two websites run on today
- The penalty was applied to buzzbingo.com, not to a casino that had not launched
- Nothing published reconciles the two company names
- ✅ Fair to say: a fine can name a company that has already changed hands, and a brand can open clean on a licence that carries one.
- ❌ Not fair to say: that Buzz Casino was fined, or that the current owner was the one that earned the penalty.
💳 PayPal first, and two methods that only pay in
The cashier is narrower than most British casinos carry, because it is the Buzz Bingo banking set-up brought across unchanged. Skrill, Neteller and cryptocurrency are simply not offered. PayPal is the fastest way to get money out and it clears close to instantly once the withdrawal is approved.
📜 What is in the cashier, and how fast it moves
- PayPal, both ways, near instant once approved and the quickest option on the list
- Visa Debit, both ways, under an hour through Faster Funds, quicker again on a card eligible for Visa Direct
- Mastercard Debit, both ways, 1 to 3 banking days, with Mastercard Send speeding up compatible cards
- Apple Pay, deposits only, and cashouts route to a linked card or bank instead
- Paysafecard, deposits only, so a bank transfer has to be set up before any money comes back
- Bank transfer, both ways, 3 to 5 banking days and the slowest thing here
Two of those six pay in only. A player who deposits with Apple Pay or Paysafecard has to add a card or a bank account before the first withdrawal can go anywhere, which is a thing to sort out before the money is in rather than after. The whole operation is Britain only and pounds only.
🔒 An exclusion set on one site does reach the other
Here, sharing an operator helps the player. Because Buzz Casino and Buzz Bingo run on the same licence and the same account, a self-exclusion set on one is applied to the other automatically. There is no gap between the two sites to fall through and nothing to set twice.
That is not how it works everywhere. On a licence where the brands are run by different companies, a block set with one of them does not reach the others. GAMSTOP works differently again: one sign-up there blocks every gambling site licensed in Britain, these two included. A block set with the operator covers these two brands. GAMSTOP covers the rest of the market.
📈 One sister and two much larger networks
Buzz Bingo is the only sister site there is. The other two below are the operators a Buzz Casino player is most likely choosing between instead, and both are several times the size.
🔗 Two operators that run a single brand each
One brand, one permission and a Mayfair members club behind it, where Buzz has two brands and 82 clubs
Another British licence carrying published penalties that its own summary does not show
See Buzz Casino on the casino sister sites index.
