Playbook has held multiple licenses with the UK Gambling Commission since the start of 2018, covering casino gaming, sports betting, bingo and other gambling services, but the Playbook name goes back to the late 1990s. Generally, Playbook offers betting and gambling platforms on a white label basis, and also provides a host of gambling services to other companies.
Planet Sport Bet Games
Like all of the sites in the Playbook Gaming portfolio, Planet Sport Bet is primarily a sports betting site, but it also incorporates a casino gaming section.
In total there are 560 games on offer at the Planet Sport Bet casino, of which the vast majority are slots titles. We are pleased to see that the site provides games from 15 different developers, including NetEnt, Thunderkick and Evolution, which ensures players have a good choice of gaming options.
You can expect to find all of the most popular slot titles on offer here, including well known games such as Gonzo’s Quest, Sweet Bonanza and Starburst, along with some interesting retro-style slots. The lack of a substantial progressive jackpot section is disappointing, but there is a good variety of different game types, and the site is easy to navigate thanks to a detailed and intuitive layout.
Table game fans, however, will be less impressed, as the table game section includes just 24 titles and there appear to be no live casino options at all.
Planet Sport Bet Banking
UK based betting sites often provide only a small range of payment options, and this is disappointingly the case with Planet Sport Bet. There are just four banking methods in use on this site, and these are the standard Visa, Maestro, Visa Electron and Mastercard.
There are no charges for using any of these banking methods, and withdrawal times appear to be in line with the industry standard, with no official withdrawal limit, which is a welcome feature, however, the minimum deposit of £20 is a little higher than we would like to see.
Planet Sport Bet Customer Support
Planet Sport Bet launched in 2018 so given that it is a relatively modern site, it is disappointing to find only the bare minimum customer support available. The FAQ section is small and only answers very basic questions, and the only other contact options are through email or to contact the company on social media. At a minimum we would expect to see a telephone or live chat option made available, and the site will continue to score poorly for customer support as long as this is not addressed.
BetZone Casino
BetZone is a direct sister site of Planet Sport Bet and the two sites have a lot else in common. Like Planet Sport Bet, BetZone is mainly focused on sports betting, and has a small casino section, with even fewer games than Planet Sport Bet. It does, however, provide a live casino section, which is absent from the Planet Sport Bet site.
Planet Sport Bet Conclusion
Playbook Gaming is a well-known casino and gambling company, but this particular casino offering is a let-down. The layout is effective and easy to use, and all of the main slots boxes are ticked, but table game and live casino fans will be disappointed, and the surprisingly poor customer service platform drags its score down even further, making this an average casino site at best.
