The licence is a good deal older than this brand name. Its casino permission has been in place since 1 November 2014, with real-event betting added in April 2016, bingo in February 2018 and virtual-event betting in April 2025. All four read Active, and that last addition is the only thing to have changed on the file for seven years. There are no premises on it, so nothing here happens over a counter, and there are no trading names on it either, which is why six brands appear as six addresses. What the licence cannot do is worth stating as well: it may not supply games to other operators, and it holds nothing for lotteries or pool betting.

The footer on betmgm.co.uk names LeoVegas Gaming PLC and gives its office as The Plaza Business Centre, Bisazza Street, Sliema. The account file gives the same street and the same postcode but writes the building as Plaza Commercial Center. Both point at one office. No white-label supplier sits behind these brands, and no platform company stands between them and the licence, so the company holding it and the company running the site are one and the same.
🎮 What the site actually carries
Sports, Casino and Live Casino run across the top, the same two-sided shape Bet UK uses. The sports menu starts with live betting, then football under a Premier League heading, then horse racing and tennis, with a blog and an offers page alongside. The casino side leads with slots. Anyone arriving here from one of the casino-only sisters will notice the odds and the bet slip before anything else. The homepage also carries a banner the site labels a supersized jackpot, showing a pound total that rises each time the page refreshes. No figure from it appears here, because a number that changes between two loads of the same page is an observation rather than a fact.
⚠ Two fines, and the roster that dates them
Both penalties on this licence were announced before the BetMGM name turns up in any material about it. The first, dated 2 May 2018, came to £600,000 and covered misleading advertising together with three failures in the handling of self-excluded customers: 41 adverts found to be misleading, 11,205 people left out of pocket after excluding themselves and shutting an account, a further 1,894 in that same position who were marketed to regardless, and 413 more readmitted to play with no conversation beforehand and without the twenty-four hours that should have gone by first. Money made from the failings was given up and the investigation was paid for. The second, dated 3 August 2022, came to £1.32 million with an official warning and a required audit. Those findings were about controls: spending alerts pitched beyond the reach of a normal customer, six unbroken hours at the games before any compulsory 45-minute break began, with no recorded reason for that figure, harm indicators left unacted on despite policies that covered them, money-laundering limits set too high to be useful, and barely any checking of where customer money had come from.

Responsibility does not move with a brand name. A penalty attaches to the licensee, and the licensee is the same company answering for BetMGM today. 🔒 One rulebook, one block, six websites
BetMGM writes none of its own small print. The document it serves is the group one, identical in version number across all six sites, with only the edition date moving as each site takes the update. In it, the six brands are named together, a customer is allowed one account per brand, and no single sports bet may return more than £250,000, however big the stake. Customer funds are described as held away from company funds at a level the document calls medium protection, which explains how the money is kept without promising it back. Exclusion reaches just as far. GAMSTOP closes every gambling site licensed in Britain in a single action, and under that the account-level block takes in all six names, BetMGM with them, which the flagship site states plainly in its own copy. All six also point the Sign Up button at one shared page, behind which sits the same short two-step form.
🔍 BetMGM elsewhere is a different licence
This name is on gambling products in a number of countries, and none of that reaches the British file. Search the three letters mgm, not even the full brand, and the only result anywhere is this one account. What the public list records is licensees, not brand owners and not joint ventures, so for Great Britain the story runs to a single line and stops there. Anyone reading BetMGM coverage written for another country is reading about a different licence. Among the sisters, only Bet UK has a real near-namesake: ibetuk.com, filed by iBet Global Limited, which has no connection to anything here. The word vegas on its own returns 37 entries, and none of those belongs to this account either.
