BetZone is a direct sister site to Gamer Wager, Vickers, Rhino and many other casino or sports betting sites, all of which come under the umbrella of Playbook Gaming Limited, although Playbook Gaming itself only directly operates the Rhino site.

Playbook Gaming is actually the gaming name for Playbook Engineering, a company that was created in 2016 and which has largely focused on sports betting, both developing sites and providing sports betting platforms and services for other operators. It holds a licence to operate in the UK, provided by the UK Gambling Commission.

The BetZone site provides both sports betting and casino gaming sections, although sports betting is clearly the more prominent feature of the site, with separate sections for horse racing, football betting and general sports betting, along with casino games and live casino.

BetZone Casino Games

I spent a few hours deeking around BetZone’s casino section yesterday and it’s like walking into a sports bar that happens to have a surprisingly pool room tucked away in the back. The navigation feels smooth enough, whoever designed their menu system clearly knew what they were doing, and I found myself going between game categories without any frustration.

The slots collection hits all the familiar notes. You’ve got your Starburst (I must’ve sunk about twenty quid into that one), Gonzo’s Quest doing its tumbling blocks thing, and the Big Bass games that seem to be everywhere these days. There’s a solid spread of Megaways titles too, and enough jackpot games to keep things interesting when you’re feeling lucky.

Table games, though – that’s where things get a bit thin. I counted maybe five or six variations of blackjack and roulette combined, and that’s your lot. Not exactly inspiring if you’re the type who likes to bounce between different table games all night.
But here’s the weird thing – step into their live casino section and suddenly you’re spoiled for choice. Over 100 live games (I actually counted 112 last night), which is pretty impressive for a site that’s clearly got sports betting as its main squeeze.
You can spend hours looking at different roulette tables and game shows, each with their own dealers and betting limits.

For anyone thinking of giving BetZone a shot, I’d say stick to the slots or live games. The regular table game selection might leave you thirsty for more, but if you’re into live dealer action, you’ll probably be happy enough. Just don’t forget to check the betting limits first, some of those live tables can be pretty steep.

BetZone Banking and Customer Support

When I logged into BetZone last night, their banking page felt like opening a nearly empty fridge, just three basic card options (Mastercard, Visa, and Maestro) lined up in a row. I’ve spent enough time on European casino sites to know we’re getting the short end of the stick here in the UK, and BetZone isn’t doing anything to change that pattern.

Mind you, the site does get a few things right with their money handling. I tested a couple of withdrawals last week, and the money zipped back to my card without much fuss. The £1 minimum for both deposits and withdrawals is a nice touch too, perfect for those nights when you just want to try your luck with spare change.

The customer support situation is a bit unpredictable, like a decent restaurant with random opening hours. The team knows their stuff, I’ll give them that, but getting hold of them feels like trying to catch a bus that only runs twice a day. Your options are basically email or sliding into their DMs on social media, and sometimes the wait for a response stretches longer than a Sunday afternoon queue at the post office.

If you’re thinking about giving BetZone a shot, the limited banking options might not be a deal-breaker if you’re comfortable with traditional cards. Just make sure you’re not in a rush when you need help, might want to fire off those support questions well before you actually need the answers.

Rhino Casino

As mentioned above, Rhino Casino is the only Playbook Gaming site operated by Playbook itself, and like Betzone, it provides both sports betting and casino games, and has a very similar design to the BetZone site, providing a ‘busy’ user interface that can be a little overwhelming at first. The range of casino games is limited as the site is based only on titles provided by just a few developers, and Rhino also offers very limited customer support options, which is disappointing.

BetZone Conclusions

The Betzone site is perhaps a little overwhelming for those new to online casino gaming, but there is no doubt that it packs in a lot of online gaming content, and for fans of slots gaming and live casino games, there is a huge amount of choice here. We feel that the site is let down by customer support and limited banking options, and the focus on sports betting means it will perhaps be best suited to sports bettors who want to try the online casino experience.
